Authentic Pork Souvlaki

  Ingredients List:

  • 2-3 lbs. pork
  • 1 cup Greek extra virgin olive oil
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 tbsp. dried Greek oregano
  • Salt & pepper to taste


  1. Cut pork into 1" chunks and place in large mixing bowl
  2. In another bowl combine all the other ingredients and mix well
  3. Pour over pork, mix evenly and let set for at least 1/2 an hour
  4. Skewer 5-6 chunks per souvlaki and grill to desired doneness


Notes & Tips:
  • The more meat is allowed to marinate, the more intense the flavour
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the souvlakia immediately after grilling
  • Serve with tzatziki, Greek village salad (horiatiki) and bread/pitas
  • To avoid wooden skewers bursting into flames on your grill, soak in water at least 1/2 an hour before adding meat
