Greek Style Lasagna Roll Ups

  Ingredients List:

  • 1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup water
  • 300g spinach
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 200g swiss cheese
  • 1 onion
  • Bunch of parsley
  • 250g feta cheese
  • 1 tsp. dried Greek oregano
  • 1/3 cup Greek extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste


  1. Boil lasagna noodles to desired doneness
  2. Pre-heat oven to 400*f/200*c
  3. In a large saucepan, brown ground beef in olive oil
  4. Chop onions and garlic and add to browning beef
  5. Add cinnamon and continue to cook for 3 minutes
  6. Add crushed tomatoes and water to pan and simmer for 6 minutes
  7. Add spinach and heat through
  8. In a mixing bowl or food processor, combine feta, parsley, 1 tbsp. olive oil and egg and mix well
  9. In a baking pan, spread a little meat sauce on the bottom to prevent sticking
  10. Place lasagna noodles flat (see video)
  11. Spread feta mixture lightly over each  noodle
  12. Add meat sauce over feta mixture and grate swiss over sauce (see video)
  13. Roll lasagna noodle carefully and place in pan (see video)
  14. Repeat steps 10-13 until your pan is full
  15. Top with remaining meat sauce and grate remaining swiss over entire pan
  16. Bake at 400*f for 40-50 minutes 


Notes & Tips:
  • Makes 4-6 servings
  • Allow to rest for 20 minutes before serving
  • Serve on its own or with a side salad
  • Omit ground beef for vegetarian option
