Easy Braised Porkchops

  Ingredients List:

  • Porkchops
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup Metaxa (brandy)
  • 1 onion
  • 1/4 cup Greek extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 soup can of milk
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste
 

Method:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 400*f/200*c
  2. Brown porkchops and place in baking dish
  3. In the same frying pan as the browned porkchops, melt butter and slice and saute onion, celery, carrot and bell pepper
  4. Finely chop garlic and add to pan
  5. Deglaze with Metaxa and cook for 3 minutes
  6. Add mushroom soup, water and soy sauce and stir well
  7. Pour over browned porkchops, cover and bake for about 1 hour

 

Notes & Tips:
  • Makes 4-6 servings
  • Serve with rice, pasta or Greek salad
  • Substitute apple juice for brandy
