Easy Greek Baklava Tarts

Baklava Tarts

  Ingredients List:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cinnamon stick (1/2 tsp.)
  • 2 cloves
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 12 tart shells
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 6 tbsp. butter
 

Method:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350*f
  2. In a small sauce pan combine first 5 ingredients, bring to a rolling boil, simmer for 5 minutes and set aside to cool
  3. In a food processor combine walnuts, almonds, ground cinnamon and sugar and pulse to semi-fine consistency
  4. Fill tarts with about 2 tbsp. nut filling each
  5. Place a small tab of butter on each nut filled tart
  6. Bake for approx. 25 minutes on middle oven rack
  7. Drizzle tarts with syrup immediately after baking 

 

Notes & Tips:
  • Makes 12 tarts
  • Make syrup first to allow time to cool
