Ingredients List:
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1-1/2 cups fine semolina
- Zest of 2 lemons
- 8 cups milk
- 1 cup butter
- 10 phyllo sheets

- Pre-heat oven to 350*f
- In a mixing bowl combine 1 cup sugar and eggs and beat well
- Add vanilla, semolina, lemon zest and milk and continue mixing for 3-4 minutes
- Transfer custard mixture into pot and heat on medium heat until well thickened (about 15-20)
- Grease 9"x13" pan with butter
- Lay first phyllo sheet and baste with melted butter
- Repeat for the other 4 phyllo sheets that will make up the bottom
- Pour thickened custard into pan and spread evenly
- Repeat method for the top 5 phyllo sheets buttering in between
- Lightly score the top phyllo sheets into desired pieces before baking
- Bake @ 350* for 45-60 minutes or until golden brown and delicious
- In a sauce pan combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water and the lemon juice, bring to a boil stirring frequently and simmer for 5 minutes
- Pour over galaktoboureko slowly until completely absorbed
