One Pot Spaghetti & Greek Meat Sauce

  Ingredients List:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 450g #5 spaghetti
  • Water as needed
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1-1/2 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 50g kefalograviera  cheese
  • 1/3 cup Greek extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
 

Method:

  1. In a large pot, brown ground beef in olive oil
  2. Chop and add the onion and cook until softened
  3. Chop and add garlic and continue to sauté for 3 minutes
  4. Add cinnamon and continue to cook for 3 minutes
  5. Add crushed tomatoes and 4 cups water
  6. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes
  7. Add pasta and cook until desired doneness adding water as needed (see video)

 

Notes & Tips:
  • Makes 4-6 servings
  • Serve immediately
  • If you can't find kefalograviera cheese, use whatever pasta cheese you prefer
  • Omit ground beef for vegetarian option
