Spaghetti and Clams In Ouzo Sauce

Spaghetti and Clams

  Ingredients List:

  • 450g #5 spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 lb. clams
  • 1/2 cup ouzo
  • Bunch of parsley
  • 1/4 cup Greek extra virgin olive oil
  • Kefalotyri as required
  • Salt & pepper to taste


  1. Cook spaghetti to desired doneness
  2. In a large sauce pan, add olive oil and butter and saute chopped garlic
  3. Add the clams and cook for about 3 minutes
  4. Add ouzo and cook for another 3 minutes to burn off alcohol
  5. Chop parsley and add to pan stirring well
  6. Add spaghetti to pan with clams and mix well
  7. Sprinkle with grated kefalotyri and serve


Notes & Tips:
  • Makes 4 servings
  • Use any pasta you have on hand
  • In the tragic event you can't find kefalotyri, use any hard sharp cheese available
