The Creamiest Greek Style Rice Pudding | Rizogalo

Greek Rice Pudding

  Ingredients List:

  • 6 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup medium grain rice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • Cinnamon for garnish
 

Method:

  1. In a medium sauce pan, slowly heat milk, rice and sugar stirring frequently
  2. Once small bubbles start for form around the sides of the pot, add the nutmeg
  3. Just before coming to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 45 minutes stirring frequently
  4. Add vanilla extract and stir well
  5. Place hot rice pudding in serving dishes and sprinkle with cinnamon (optional)
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to cool and set
