Vegan Chocolate Glazed Cake

  Ingredients List:

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp. white vinegar
    • 1-1/2 cups icing sugar
    • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
    • 6-8 tbsp. water
     

    Method:

    1. Pre-heat oven to 350*f/160*c
    2. In a large bowl, add flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt &  cocoa and mix well
    3. Add water, vanilla, oil & vinegar and mix well to combine all ingredients
    4. Pour into non-stick  form pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
    5. Allow cake to completely cool before next step
    6. In a smaller mixing bowl, add icing sugar, cocoa and mix well
    7. Slowly add water in 2 tbsp. increments and mix with whisk to make glaze
    8. Once glaze is at desired consistency, pour over cake 

     

    Notes & Tips:
    • Makes 12-16 pieces
    • Can also be made in round, square or rectangular pans
    • Can be served plain, with glaze (as shown) or sprinkled with icing sugar
    • Allow cake to completely cool before adding any topping
