Agourelaio is the early harvest organic extra virgin olive oil that is produced from late September to late October. Using only cold pressed extraction a few hours after harvest, it is produced from unripen olives that require twice and often three times the amount of green olives for its production. Agourelaio has a stronger and fruitier flavour than other olive oils as well as a more intense, bright green color.
My extra virgin olive oil comes from our family olive groves in Gargaliani, Messinia Greece, which is approximately 1 hour west of Kalamata. It is only first cold pressed, unfiltered & gravity filtered only and of the highest quality available. I do not offer it in mainstream grocery chains. This is very limited stock on a first come, first serve basis. It is meant to be enjoyed raw in salads, dressings or marinades but can also be used to roast and bake.
